Shortly after noon on February 21st my baby sister became a mommie. She and Mark are proud parents of baby Hannah weighing in at 1.2 pounds. It hasn’t been easy for my sister , a bit of a rough week . I hear that she has been a real trooper through it all. I wish everyday that I could have been there for her but circumstances wouldn’t let me. All I wanted was to give her a big hug, tell her that I love her and that things would be ok. I have no doubt that she will be a great mom. Xavier just loved her when he last saw her. She taught him how to wink and her name was the first he learned outside of mom and dad. I can still see him sitting at the bottom of my parents stairs looking up and calling out to Caaathy. She made him laugh.
My sister and I have had some fun times, she was my date at my LPN graduation, she was my drunk buddy when I came home one year from Toronto and she brings out the real Newfie accent in me. She would always seem to call me when she had a few drinks in her. She became a real chatty Cathy and then she would get sentimental and cry. Now , I guess we start a new era in our relationship. Being moms together. My only piece of advice to her is not to listen to others peoples advice. Trust your own judgement. We learn by our own mistakes.
Hang in there kiddo, I love you very much
